Densiflex® is a polyether-based resin compound that when mixed with an isocyanate produces a polyurethane elastomer. Densiflex® is two parts resin to one part isocyanate ratio (2:1).
Densiflex® is specifically formulated for deep water pipe lay applications, but can be easily adjusted in its formulation to suit a wide range of field joint configurations. Pipe lay cycle times are an important factor in pipeline construction. Densiflex® with Deep Sea Sleeve® has an extremely cost-effective cycle time.
Deep Sea Sleeve® eliminates the de-mold time of reusable molds. Densiflex® develops an excellent bond to the Deep Sea Sleeve® increasing its overall strength to withstand dynamic loads encountered during pipeline construction. This fact, coupled with the fast reaction profile of the material and its excellent thermal conductivity, makes for an excellent insulative joint infill system.
Densiflex® can be applied in a range of thicknesses to suite the insulation or abrasive characteristics required. Thicknesses vary from 3 mm to 125 mm with options to design stepped thicknesses over pipeline protrusions and minimize Densiflex® volume.
