Densiflex 6100 mercury free, fast curing solid polyurethane increases its track record
In 2009 the Densiflex 6100 product was applied to offshore flowline field joints on the:
- Marathon Droshky project for PTL at the new SS7 spool-base at Port Isabelle, Texas (near Brownsville).
- Newfields Fastball flowline project for Helix.
2009
OJS continues to dominate pipeline field joint coating in the offshore sector
OJS continued to enjoy the largest market share in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Gulf of Mexico regions throughout 2009. Work was also performed in West Africa, Brazil, Mediterranean and Caspian Seas.
2009
OJS expands in Southeast Asia and Middle East
OJS has expanded our workshop in Batam, Indonesia, increasing equipment and materials inventory and personnel to improve our service capability for our Southeast Asian and Middle East clients. The new facility is ten fold the area of our previous workshop and will support OJS FBE, SPU and HDPF equipment. We have also relocated key management and project personnel to manage more projects locally, improve our service level and response time. Notable benefits to our clients:
Faster mobilizations
With a greater supply from local vendors, OJS will be able to mobilize equipment and materials faster than previously. This will support our clients with fast track projects to mobilize.
Faster response
If project changes occur during pipelay - spares, additional equipment, equipment modifications.
Improved and more timely communication
Along with a new Batam based Vice President, OJS has increased our Project Managers and project engineering staff to be readily available to respond to Clients requirements.
Training School for Local Recruitment
OJS will increase the training of our local technicians for improved cycle time performance, less downtime and closer supervision of clients' crews. OJS facilities are also available for training of our clients' crews.
PQT's and Demonstrations
PQT's may be provided at the OJS base with less set up. Demonstrations will also be performed to help Client's engineering staff become familiar with field joint coating technologies and the set up for HDPF, FBE and SPU field joint PQT's

2009
OJS Gains market share in spool-base projects worldwide
During 2009, OJS expanded it's market share in spool-base projects with the following projects:
- Cascade A, Cascade B, Thunderhawk, Thunder Horse Next and Chinook projects at Technip USA spool base in Mobile, Alabama applying FBE as part of Bredero IMPP system.
- Droshky at SS7 spool base at Port Isabelle, Texas applying FBE and Densiflex 6100 and
- Fastball project at Helix spool base in Texas applying HSS and SPU.
- In addition work continued at the SS7 Ubo spool-base in Brazil applying FBE as part of Bredero IMPP system.
In 2008 OJS applied protective coatings at UK, USA, Brazil and Angolan spool-bases.
2009
OJS completes Woodside Pluto IMPP project
During the summer of 2009, OJS, as subcontractor to Bredero, applied Injection molded Polypropylene (IMPP) Coating onto the Pluto pipeline field joints. OJS applied the FBE anti - corrosion and CMPP layer. The work was performed offshore Australia as part of the pipelay by the Allseas onboard the new pipelay vessel, Audacia. The work included the training of Australian technicians in Norway prior to mobilization. The project was successfully completed on schedule.
2009
OJS Onboard the Acergy Falcon Vessel
OJS has been awarded the subcontract by Acergy USA to apply corrosion and thermal insulation protective coatings on the Hess Akom North pipeline project. The pipeline is 6" dia with Fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) anti-corrosion layer and 2.1" of Glass syntactic polyurethane thermal insulation. OJS will apply FBE in powder form and inject its proprietary Densiflex 6100 solid polyurethane (IMPU) to the pipeline field joint area onboard the Acergy Falcon pipelay vessel. The work will be performed in the Gulf of Mexico near the Conger field during September 2009.
2008
OJS Launches Densiflex 6100 mercury free, fast curing Solid Polyurethane
In 2008, OJS launched its new Mercury Free, Fast curing solid Polyurethane formulation named Densiflex 6100 for thermal insulation on pipeline field joints, subsea structures and spools.
During 2008, the Densiflex 6100 product was applied by OJS on two offshore projects: 1) field joints on the ENI Pegasus flowline project and 2) Amerada Hess Ceiba PLET field joints. The Pegasus flowline was fabricated at Helix spool-base in Texas, USA. The pipeline was successfully reeled and installed in Gulf of Mexico Q3 2008.
2008
SSI acquires C & L, Texas
C & L a pipeline equipment rental company specializing in line up clamps and pipe bending for the landline. Contractors was acquired by Subsea International LLC in 2008. C & L joins OJS as subsidiaries to SSI and brings together offshore and onshore pipelines services.
2007
OJS acquired by SCF Partners and is part of Subsea International
OJS has a new major shareholder, SCF Partners (SCF) www.scfpartners.com, a Houston based private equity investment company which has, along with the OJS executive management team, acquired all the shares in OJS effective January 5, 2007. Subsea International LLC will be the holding company of OJS and subsequent acquisitions.
SCF is a well established and highly respected private equity investment company located in Houston and specializing in the energy industry, and is firmly committed to further developing OJS' capabilities.
2005 - 2006
OJS Awarded the Entire Langeled Project
In total OJS was awarded three contracts covering the entire Langeled scope with over 1,100km of field joint infill on the pipeline from Norway to UK, the longest subsea pipeline in the world.
In order to complete this work OJS will procure, ship, provide logistical services and apply over 4,000 tonnes of High Density Polyurethane Foam (HDPF) infill material and 93,000 patented Sea Sleeve/Intrafuse forms. The work shall be performed onboard the LB 200 and Solitaire with the installation program spanning both the 2005 and 2006 pipelay seasons.

During the 465km Acergy pipelay program in 2005, OJS achieved a reliability performance of almost 100% "uptime". Only 8 minutes downtime was recorded in almost 8 months of pipelay operations onboard the LB 200 pipelay vessel.
In addition to the above, the field joint specification for the 2006 part of the trunkline called for an offshore industry first. The energy impact absorption specification for the HDPF was increased to 12.2 Kj compared to the 2005 requirement of 7 Kj. This called for significant re-formulation of the HDPF chemistry by OJS R & D department and extensive pre-qualification testing in Q4 2005.
The LB 200 is currently installing the 2006 pipelay scope and the Solitaire is due to commence mid year. Completion of pipelay is expected in Q4 this year.
